- IT/Web Support Technician
Able Workwear Activewear Ltd, a multi brand, multi site distributor of Promotional Clothing and Workwear is seeking an IT/Web Support Technician to work in its Head Office and Distribution Centre in Wednesbury, West Midlands.
We require an IT / Web Support Technician to provide 1st line support as part of the in-house Support Desk Function covering our Enterprise system with 90 users, our own website, hosted customer website. Responsibilities will also include server maintenance and back up, telephone systems, and Induction / training of staff members.
The suitable candidate will have some experience in:
- Windows XP - Windows 7 - Windows Server 2003/2008
- Linux - Redhat
- Terminal Services Environments
- Apple OSX
- TCP/IP
- Mysql - MSSql
- Html
Experience in Trixbox or other Asterisk Derivatives would be an advantage but not essential.
You will be working on the front line of the IT team: fielding, logging and supporting phone calls and emails from internal staff over a number of sites and from key customers. A good understanding of computers and software is required including the Microsoft office suite, web based software and terminal services systems.
You must possess a sound knowledge of major PC hardware components and have an ability to think logically always demonstrating attention to detail and accuracy. With a can-do and committed attitude as well as hands on approach, the ideal IT / Web Support Technician must be able to communicate effectively at all levels of the business. An ability to work effectively with other members of the IT team and also able to work on their own initiative will be required.
The IT/Web support Technician will report to the IT Systems Manager and ultimately to the IT Director.
A full driving license is essential as some visits to our other sites / 3rd party suppliers may be required.
